Famous
While Emma was in ballet class today, I picked up the November issue of Austin Family Magazine...Flipping through the pages, I saw Emma staring right back at me from page 26...
A photographer friend we know through my sister-in-law, Amy, took pictures of Emma last April. She had briefly talked about using pictures of Emma in her advertising, but I had completely forgotten. It took me by surprise...I showed Emma her picture in the magazine, and she couldn't have cared less...

Twick o' Tweat!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We've had some fun and many photo sessions over the last few days. Emma had a blast trick or treating and celebrating Halloween with her numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. Our neighborhood was booming on Halloween night! Apparently, it was THE place to be. It was a lot of fun!
After EVERY single house, Emma would ask "Mommy, can I eat my candy now?"...we waited until we got home, and she was allowed to pick 5 pieces to eat that night, and we saved the rest for later. When I picked her up at school yesterday, her teacher told me that she had been complaining of a tummyache a few times that morning. On the way home in the car, Emma said "Mommy, at next Halloween, I will only eat one candy so I don't get a tummy ache again"
Emma has Spanish lessons at school, and she has been learning some Halloween Spanish words. The other night, proud that my daughter knows some new spanish words, asked her in front of her grandparents "Emma, how do you say 'pumpkin' in Spanish?". Very seriously, and with a sassy spanish accent she replied " jaco-lahn-torn" (Jack-O-lantern) Too funny!
Here are pics of our Halloween:

Poor Lola, dressed as a mermaid. Emma picked out her costume. She loves it, can you tell?

Emma and Kerr devouring their Halloween treats. Yum!
And here are some more pictures of our week with my sister, Jenny and nephew, Ben, who were here visiting this week. Ben's so cute, and SO big! We looked at Emma's baby book and realized that at 3 months, he's the size (weight and length) that Emma was at 10 months!!! She was such a shrimp, and he's a big boy!! But what a sweet, happy, healthy baby boy! We just got back from dropping them off at the airport, and Emma said in the car "I miss Jenny and baby Ben a LOT" Aw! It was great spending the week with them, and we can't wait to see them again at Christmas!!

Sounds familiar!
I thought this was funny...Emma's only 3, but I already hear myself in this...
"The Mom" song, sung to the William Tell Overture, by Anita Renfroe. What a mom says in 24 hours, condensed into 2 minutes and 55 seconds! Hilarious and talented! Lyrics for "The Mom Song" is given below. (Thank you BelleFlower15!)
"The Mom Song"
Get up now Get up now Get up out of bed
Wash your face Brush your teeth Comb your sleepyhead
Here's your clothes and your shoes Hear the words I said
Get up now! Get up and make your bed
Are you hot? Are you cold? Are you wearing that?
Where's your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and gloves and your scarf and hat
Don't forget! You gotta feed the cat
Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it's the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at 3 today
Don't forget your piano lesson is this afternoon so you must play
Don't shovel Chew slowly But hurry
The bus is here Be careful Come back here Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don't play rough, will you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don't forget to share
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare
Get along! Don't make me come down there
Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay? Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone! Get off the phone!Don't sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table
No more computer time tonight!Your iPod's my iPod if you don't listen up
Where are you going and with whom and what time do you think you're coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You'll appreciate my wisdom someday when you're older and you're grown
Can't wait till you have a couple little children of your own
You'll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now I thank you not to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew, would appreciate
Take a bite maybe two of the stuff you hate
Use your fork, do not burp or I'll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, get the door, don't get smart with me
Get a grip, get in here, I'll count to three
Get a job, get a life, get a PHD
Get a dose of,"I don't care who started it!You're grounded until you're 36" Get your story straight and tell the truth for once, for heaven's sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff would you jump, too?
If I've said it once, I've said at least a thousand times before
That you're too old to act this way
It must be your father's DNA
Look at me when I am talking to you
Stand up straighter when you walk
A place for everything and everything must be in place
Stop crying or I'll give you something real to cry about
Oh!Brush your teeth, wash your face, put your PJs on
Get in bed, get up here, say a prayer with mom
Don't forget, I love you
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom's work never ends
You don't need the reason why
Because, because, because, becauseI said so, I said so, I said so, I said so
I'm the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom!!Ta da!!!

My weekend...
So, I thought I'd give this blogging thing a try too...that was my uncle Kevin's idea...Apparently, my cousin Ben's already blogging, and he's only 12 weeks old, so...here goes.

And then, this afternoon, my mom, my dad, Lola and I went to the park. There's a cool trail close to my house that has a duck pond, and I wanted to feed the ducks, so that's what we did.

Now, I'm really pooped, and going to take a nap. When I wake up, I'm going to my Pops and Nana's house for dinner. Wow, I'm exhausted.
Here's a rundown of my weekend.
On Friday evening, after my nap, I went to play soccer with my daddy and Lola. It was fun...And then my Poppy and Yaya came over for dinner. We had brownies and ice cream for dessert, yummy! My poppy read me about a thousand books, and then my Yaya gave me a bath..Pretty fascinating stuff, I know...Here I am in my bath, I'm a mermaid...

On Saturday morning, my mom took me to my friend Katie's princess birthday party...We wore princess costumes (I was snow white), and we painted pumpkins...that was pretty fun. And then, after my nap, we went to our neighborhood's Oktoberfest! Whatever that is...I just know that they had moonwalks there, and I had a lot of fun jumping around with all the other kids...I even met some neighbors my age...Check me out. I'm bouncing...

My yaya made my wedding gown. Isn't it beautiful?

Then, I gave birth...to twins...AAAAAH

Aren't they cute?

I had to feed them

and tuck them in to bed

The house was such a mess, I had to do some cleaning...

Lifting up my dress...it takes skills to vacuum in your wedding gown...

That's me and Lola. I love her...

I made a friend there, her name was Stephanie. She talked kind of funny, but my mom said it's because she's from Germany. Anyways, we hung out, and played on the playground together. She was pretty cool.

Here I am sliding,

and swinging,

Can you see me?

And, that's my pirate ship. I'm sailing...

BTW, my daddy got a new camera for his birthday, and my mom played with it the whole time we were at the park. It was kind of embarassing to have her snapping pictures left and right...but I know she thinks I'm pretty cute...
All right, I hope you enjoyed my first blog. Talk to you guys later,
Emma

Sweet daddy!
When I picked up Emma from school today, she was very excited to tell me that her daddy had left her a "surprise" in her lunch box. He packed her lunch last night, and at the bottom of her container of dried mangoes, he had put a handful of M & M's. So sweet!
It was such a nice gesture. Thanks Geoff, for being such a caring daddy to Emma! Just thought I'd share...

Twinkle Toes
Getting ready for ballet class:

Warming up at home...Look what I can do!

If you're ever in need of a good laugh, stop by a dance studio, and peek into the window of a 3- year old class. It's hilarious!!
Emma started dance classes a few weeks ago, and LOVES it!! My favorite part is seeing her all dressed up in her leotard and tights, and her hair up in a bun, so cute!
So, at 3 years old, most kids aren't exactly coordinated yet. Some are more than others, and Emma is... how do I put it...NOT. Think of Elaine's dance on Seinfeld, or Phoebe running on Friends. Yep, that's Emma...If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at these...
But what she lacks in skills, she makes up in enthusiasm!
A ballerina waiting patiently for class to start:

Uh oh...here we go...

That's more like it!!

(There are no special effects on these pics. I'm not that good. I just had to take them in between the mini-blinds...)
